An amazing day yesterday. I feel very privileged to have been part of the team at the Melfort Club as we worked together to make our Art courses, planned for the Spring, an enjoyable and enriching experience. Some lovely people, of all ages, never having worked with oil paint before, set to and created some wonderfully perceptive still life studies, then after a delicious lunch, set off in some very changeable weather to paint in the outdoors at a stunning location on the estate. Despite the weather hurling all it had from sunshine through to snow, the results were as stunning as the scenery around us. It was so lovely to hear comments such as 'immensely therapeutic' and 'so inspiring- I can't wait to come again' from people who had not painted since they were at school. I feel very honoured to have enabled people to fulfil themselves in such a joyous way. It wouldn't have been possible without the support and encouragement from the team at Melfort...in particular, Linda Brown, who has such a wonderful vision for the club
